Last week has shown us the freedom of speach in Czech Republic is not a respectable value for the representatives of liberal democracy, but just a limited right to promote the agenda, which complies with their discourse. The district court in Havlickuv Brod charged two persons (Erik Sedlacek and Libor Budik) with the “hate crime” (editing the webzine “Last Generation” branded as rasist and neo-nazi) and convicted them to three year`s imprisonment as the judge proclaimed the freedom of speach is guaranteed but can not be in breach of the laws of the country, which can restrict the boundaries set by Declaration of the Basic Rights and Freedoms quite fairly.
The penal code of Czech republic states:
§ 260
Anyone who supports or publicizes any movement, whose arguable aim is to supress the rights or freedoms of a man or promotes national, racial, religious or class hatred or the hatred aimed at any other group of people shall be punished by imprisonment from one year, up to five years.
Imprisonment for three to eight years shall be imposed, if the offender
a) has commited the offence through press, film, broadcasting, TV or any other effective mean
b) has commited the offence as a member of an organized group
c)has commited the offence in the state of emergency or in the state of war
Anyone who publicly displays sympathy for any movement described in §260 shall be punished by imprisonment for six months up to three years
§ 261a
Anyone who publicly denies, disputes, approves or attempts to justify the nazi or communist genocides or any other nazi or communist crimes against humanity shall be punished by imprisonment for six months up to three years
And to the story being completed there must be added these neoreheretical “hate crimes” are contained among the crimes against humanity themselves, alongside genocidium, torture, etc. what effectively means they are statute-barred. No, it is not a joke, according to Czech governement and parliament the words have got the same impact as an action. Like in the times of communist oppression of our country it is illegal to doubt and question certain taboos of the modern era. If you just ask some type of questions, you can be classified as dangerous criminal, but on the other side if you are doubtful about any other attrocity commited in the long history of mankind, you are free. What an inequality promoted by the representatives who worship the myth of universal equality of every human being as a golden calf!
After the so called Velvet revolution then freemasonist president of our country Vaclav Havel proclaimed “We are not the likes of them”, by what he meant the methods of his communist predecesors. His words perfectly illustrate the new style of pursuing of the will of the rulers, it is not necessary to resort to openly rogue methods to cage the minds of people and celebrate the censorship and thought control. After the fall of the Berlin wall concerted in compliance to backstage pacts of the powerfuls, another untouchable and undisputable dogma has been installed- the myth of allmightiness of universal rule of liberal democracy regardless the boundaries and cultures of the people and nations. This dogma is presented as the egalitarian paradise on the Earth and salvation for the mankind, but it is the totalitarianist again who has been hiding behind its nice facade. Alain De Benoist and other New Right thinkers refer to this state as the “soft totalitarianism” where everyone is absolutely free if he sticks with his material needs and do not ask the questions about the fundamentals of the universal discourse. Great Czech anticommunist folk singer Karel Kryl (RIP) sang: “..it was terrible such a state where you had to bear they banned writing and singing, but it was still not enough for them, therefore they ordered kids to pray in accordance to His Majesty Hangman`s commands..” This song was aimed at the ignorant and violent Bolshevik rulers of former Czechoslovakia, but nowadays its message is actual again despite the words about democracy which meanwhile changed its real meaning and has become the eternal goal instead of just the method of governance. It can be called as the worshipping of this method pro-forma in a twisted way leaving any real values behind as redundant and optional.
People in our country have been served simplistic views that anyone advocating the freedom of speach even for the extremists is a disguised neo-nazi himself. We strongly disagree with this simpletons` pigeon-holing, as like as we strongly disagree the national sozialism is the cure for the future of Europe for being counterproductive and dogmatic, but this ideological concept can be used by the rulers to disqualify any sort of patriotical and traditionalist opposition and to force it out of the acceptable public discussion. We do not deny Holocaust, but also we do not understand why this historical event can not be questioned at all. Is anyone scared of the impact the open discussion can bring? In this case we are still in the realm of ideas and words, not physically performing any action, therefore we ask whether the thought itself can kill.
For all these reasons mentioned above we are fully supportive of Erik Sedlacek and Libor Budik regardless the content of their webzine, as we are fully supportive of anyone found guilty of ANY verbal or visual crime (yes, in Czech Republic you can be jailed just for displaying of the symbols, despite absence of the list of banned symbols in legislature)
Sic semper tyrannis!
